In February, the Ruta del Argar experiences a variety of weather conditions across its course. In Murcia, expect periods of moderate rain interspersed with sunny spells and mild temperatures. As the route progresses into Castilla-La Mancha, the weather becomes more variable, with notable occurrences of rain and temperatures ranging from single-digit lows to mid-teen highs. The shift between cloudy, rainy days and sunny, brighter days is a common pattern throughout the month.
In Lorca, February begins with a blend of moderate rain and sunny periods, with temperatures spanning from lows of 5°C to highs around 20°C. Zarcilla de Ramos sees similar conditions, yet includes heavier rain showers, particularly affecting the mid-month period. As the trail reaches La Encarnación and Moratalla, sunny intervals dominate, with occasional moderate rainfall affecting temperatures, which range from 7°C to peaks around 24°C.
Socovos starts with intermittent rain and occasionally clear skies, maintaining cooler temperatures. In Elche de la Sierra and Riópar, clouds often blanket the sky, with heavy rain moments contributing to chillier conditions, particularly at night where freezing temperatures are noted. Vianos and Viveros experience sporadic moderate rain, mixed with sunny spells, impacting temperatures which stay between 0°C and mid-teens. By the time hikers reach Lagunas de Ruidera and Tomelloso, overcast and rainy days alternate with occasional clear weather. Moving through to Madridejos and Mora, the pattern varies with patches of rain and sunny breaks balancing temperatures. The trail concludes in Toledo, where once again, rain showers punctuate an otherwise mixed forecast of sun and cloud, rounding off the month with frequent changes but generally mild weather.
