In Lorca, May starts with a mix of sunny and partly cloudy days, interrupted by occasional rain showers. Highs range from 18°C to 27°C, with lows between 7°C and 15°C. Zarcilla de Ramos experiences similar variability, with many sunny days but also some significant rain showers, particularly at mid-month. Daily temperatures rise as high as 29°C and drop overnight to around 9°C.
In La Encarnación, the pattern continues with sunny weather disrupted by heavy rain at times. Highs can reach 30°C while lows hover around 9°C to 17°C. Moratalla shares this trend with occasional moderate rain showers against mostly sunny backdrops and temperatures fluctuating between 23°C to 30°C and lows around 11°C.
Moving into Castilla-La Mancha at Socovos, the early part of May witnesses sporadic heavy rains amidst plenty of sunshine, with temperatures spanning from the low to high twenties °C and nighttime lows varying from 5°C to 15°C. Elche de la Sierra experiences a similar dichotomy, with significant sunny periods occasionally disrupted by patches of rain, temperatures ranging up to 31°C.
In Riópar, the trail endures brief but heavy showers followed by stretches of sunshine. Daily highs reach up to 28°C while lows settle between 7°C to 16°C. Vianos continues to show partly cloudy to sunny skies with a brief encounter of heavy rainfall, capable of cooling highs of up to 30°C.
As the trail moves through Viveros and Lagunas de Ruidera, there’s a notable increase in rainfall during the first half of May, leading to a periodicity of showers amidst largely sunny intervals. Temperature highs remain comfortably warm around the high twenties °C.
Towards the latter part of Castilla-La Mancha, encompassing towns like Tomelloso, Alcázar de San Juan, Madridejos, and Mora, the weather features predominantly sunny skies with intermittent heavy showers. Temperatures in these areas range from mid-twenties °C up to peaks of around 36°C. At Toledo, May culminates with warm sunny days occasionally marred by showers, wrapping up the month with highs reaching 33°C and lows down to 8°C.
