August on the GR 20 is typically hot at low elevations and much cooler on the high ridge. Days are often sunny or mainly

clear, but afternoon cloud build-ups can trigger scattered showers and localized downpours. Daytime temperatures range

from around 13–28°C in the mountains to 30–35°C near sea level; nights vary from 6–12°C at altitude to 19–27°C lower

down. Rainfall is unevenly distributed: many days are dry, yet isolated days can bring 10–27 mm to specific segments.

Humidity and haze sometimes increase in settled spells, while clearer air follows showery bursts.

Haute-Corse

Starting near sea level, Calenzana is hot and often sunny, with highs 24–35°C and warm nights 19–27°C, interrupted only by isolated light drizzle. Climbing to Ortu and Carozzu, temperatures often reach 20–26°C by day and 9–19°C at night, with variable cloud and occasional showers; Carozzu can see rain totals up to 6 mm and brief warmer spikes around 31–33°C. Approaching Asco Stagnu, skies alternate between clear and partly cloudy, with highs 17–31°C and brief light to moderate showers up to 4 mm.

Over the high northern crest past Tighettu and Ciottulu di i Mori, days are cool with highs 13–26°C and nights 6–16°C, and unsettled spells bring drizzle and occasional moderate rain up to 6 mm. Around Manganu, conditions warm slightly with highs 19–28°C; many days are clear, though convective showers can drop around 6 mm on wetter days. The pattern remains changeable but with long dry stretches between passing showers.

At Petra Piana and Onda, expect similar mountain temperatures, with Petra Piana seeing showers up to 6 mm and Onda occasionally spiking near 10 mm amid sunny breaks. Dropping toward Vizzavone, warmth returns on some days with highs 22–33°C and nights 15–20°C, yet a few days can turn very wet with totals near 16 mm. Many days remain dry with clear or partly cloudy skies.

Corse-du-Sud

From Capanelle to the Prati area, days are generally mild to warm with highs 18–28°C and cool nights 7–19°C. Skies vary between clear and overcast, and most days stay dry, though brief drizzle or showers occur, generally under 5 mm.

Continuing over Usciolu to Matalza, temperatures sit around 20–26°C by day with nights 9–22°C, and rainfall risk increases. Usciolu can see up to 8 mm on a wet day, while Matalza occasionally takes a heavy downpour around 26 mm amid otherwise dry spells.

Around Asinau and I Paliri, expect mixed sun and cloud with occasional showers; Asinau often has light totals around 3 mm, but I Paliri can be hit by a localized storm near 27 mm. Toward Conca the weather turns hotter and drier with highs 26–32°C, warm nights 16–24°C, and only spotty drizzle on some days.
