From Le Bourg-d'Oisans into Clavans-le-Bas and up toward Refuge des Mouterres, the pattern is unsettled. Lower slopes see a mix of overcast and brighter breaks with light rain at times. As height increases, showers more often fall as snow, with low cloud and occasional heavier bursts that cut visibility. Overall temperatures are cool to mild in the valleys, but cold on the highest ground.
Dropping to Le Désert en Valjouffrey and Valsenestre, conditions ease between passing bands: some dry spells and sunny gaps, then fresh showers, at times briefly heavier. Climbing again to Refuge de la Muzelle, wintry episodes return, with regular snow showers and a lingering spring–winter mix. Returning to the Oisans valley, skies often open for a while, though another pulse of rain can still sweep through.
Around Refuge de l'Alpe de Villar-d'Arène the month often feels alpine: frequent cloud and snow showers, with brief clearings. Descending to Le Monêtier-les-Bains and Vallouise, it turns milder and more mixed, with sunny intervals and scattered showers; precipitation in the valleys is usually rain while the surrounding slopes may see sleet or snow.
Crossing the high country to Refuge du Pré de la Chaumette and Refuge de Vallonpierre, weather swings quickly between overcast and clearer spells, with recurrent snow or wintry mix on the cols. In the Valgaudemar around La Chapelle-en-Valgaudémar it tends to be milder with periodic light to moderate rain and some longer dry breaks. Climbing to Refuge des Souffles, colder air returns and snow showers remain possible. Overall temperatures run cool to mild in the valleys and cold at altitude.
