Saxony

From the eastern border westward, days swing between overcast starts and bright openings, with light showers cropping up and the odd heavier burst. Temperatures sit mostly in the low to mid‑20s °C, with a few hotter pulses on the sunniest days. As you continue across the Elbe and toward the Leipzig plain, sunshine lasts longer, but brief downpours or rumbles of thunder can pop up in the afternoon. Near Leipzig and Kleinliebenau the pattern stays mixed: plenty of dry walking hours, punctuated by short showers that clear to partial sun.

Saxony-Anhalt

Across the Saale–Unstrut country, the weather turns a touch steadier, with long dry spells and bright skies broken by passing showers. Most afternoons are warm, generally in the low to upper‑20s °C, and a couple of days can feel hot before a storm line moves through. Short, localized thunderstorms are possible near the river valleys, but they usually pass quickly and leave clearer air behind. Mornings often begin calm with patchy cloud, giving way to sun and the chance of a brief shower later on.

Thuringia

West from the Ettersberg past Erfurt and the Thuringian basin, afternoons are often the warmest of the route, around the mid‑20s °C, and some days turn hot. After sunny mornings, clouds tend to build, and scattered showers or thunderstorms roll through in bursts, occasionally heavy. Between storm cells there are extended dry windows with good visibility and bright sun. Near the wooded hills toward Eisenach and on to Vacha, the pattern stays lively: quick showers, then clearing skies and a fresh feel by evening.
